Providing technical and profitable solutions to waste problems
Developing processes to generate fuel from plastic waste
GEC presented a ten minutes pitch to VCs and Angel Investors at the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium (MGCS) held at Marriott Resorts, Ypsilanti, MI on May 11, 2011. GEC is also competing in the Emerging Business Competition held by Great Lakes Entrepreneurís Quest of Michigan.
GEC has successfully built its scaled up processing unit (alpha) capable of handling 10 pounds of plastics at a time to obtain 1 gallon of fuel (diesel or gasoline). It is done in collaboration with IntroTech of Troy. Experiments are being done to optimize the system as well as scaling it up further to handle 100 pounds of waste plastics.
A tabletop unit has been constructed at the engineering labs of Univ. of Michigan to research on novel catalysts, heating systems and the kinetics. This is in collaboration with C2 innovations.
