Dr. Swaminathan Ramesh obtained US Patent 7,531,703, "Method of Recycling a Recyclable Platic", in 2009 which teaches ways to obtain product specific fuels in high yields using metallocene catalysts dispersed on molecular sieve supports.

Further research in collaboration with GEC2 solutions showed better ways to perform recycling under milder and economically viable condition using unique nano-catalysts and novel heating techniques.

GEC has obtained a provisional patent "Customized catalysts and application apparatus for depolymerization reactions", 61/420,961 in December 2010. GEC will be filing for four to five utility patents (US and International) by the end of 2011. These patents will give GEC strong IP protection and freedom to practice the art.
